Steps Group Australia

STEPS Group Australia is a national organisation with offices throughout Australia and influences and advocates for social inclusion in our communities.

At the core of our vision is not only service delivery to the most disadvantaged groups in our community, but also a recognition that people do not want to be branded in a group such as a “person with a disability”, or“indigenous” nor “unemployed”.

STEPS is about “people”, recognising their value and more importantly assisting everyone, regardless of their circumstances, to contribute more to their community.

The Group consists of STEPS Employment Solutions, STEPS Education & Training, STEPS Social & Community and STEPS Charity.

In 2017 we were proud to open STEPS Pathways College, the first college of its kind in Australia teaching young adults with a disability skills for a lifetime of independence.

STEPS’ humble beginnings were sparked in 1989 when a group of parents of children with disabilities felt there wasn’t enough support in place to allow their children to achieve their potential.

Like all parents, that small group of mothers and fathers wanted nothing more than to see their children grow into happy, fulfilled people ready and able to ‘take life by the horns’, so they did something about it!

United in their passion, STEPS was established, and almost 30 years on we’re still here working to empower people and create a positive impact in our communities.
